One of the exciting outcomes of the the RISC OS coding meetings has been the production of some really top quality youtube videos showing you how to code in RISC OS.
These tutorials an are very short and easy to follow. They show you how to use the RISC OS DDE, standard coding tools, how to write code. I have always found the DDE a bit intimidating but these videos do make it very easy and obvious. In this 8 minute video, Rob Sprowson shows you to setup DDE (he starts with the unzipping DDE) and will have you writing a very simple C program in a couple of minutes. He also slips in some great tips on coding C and accessing RISC OS.
If you have always wanted to get into RISC OS coding but been put off by the complexity or not knowing where to start, you are less than 8 minutes away from running your own compiled C program on RISC OS...

1) Videos are about all developments tools available on RISC OS, not just DDE. As a matter of facts there are videos for GNU ASM, BBC BASIC, Python and Lua.
2) Videos are not just related to the coding meetings. These are two separated things. There are videos that are not related to the requests we have received from some of the coding meetings, and there will be video series to fulfill requests that we have received from users that are not even in those meetings.
3) All the videos are made to run (or eventually generate code that would run) on all versions of RISC OS, so they are suitable also for the retrocommunity that enjoys playing with RISC OS 3.x, 4.x, 6.x. Most of the videos are made usind RO 5 for convenience.
4) Videos are made by multiple authors and we always welcome new authors! So, whoever is reading this and fancy to make coding (or also user-level) videos to help others on RISC OS please feel free to contact me. I am happy to edit your videos and improve sound quality, add heads and tails and all the fancy bits that we have on all the videos.
Thanks everyone who are supporting this initiative and the channel subscribers!
At this time, amongh all the videos, we have passed already 1.5K views, that is quite something for a channel that exists by few months only and is so nice (RISC OS and mostly coding on RISC OS).
